Frequently Asked Questions
I'm not strong enough to do Pole.
You don't need to be strong to start your Pole journey, in fact this is one of the reasons why you start Pole, to build strength. Everyone comes from a different starting-point, different body type, different levels of ability. We all progress differently, and classes will always be tailored to each individual. The key is to just embrace the challenge that Pole gives you.
What should I wear?
For Pole classes, ideally you should wear vest top and shorts. Certain Pole moves are easier with skin contact, as it allows better grip. However, you need to feel comfortable in class. So initially any clothing that can be rolled up to the knee, and sleeves to be pulled to the shoulder, will be fine. Feel free to arrive at the studio with layers that can be taken off after the warm up. There is also a changing area at the studio if you would rather bring a suitable outfit change.
For choreography and flexibility classes, knee pads are highly recommended. There are some available in the studio to borrow, however we have a limited amount of these.
For the Sexy Socks flow class, please wear whatever you feel confident and comfortable in. Wear as little, or as much as you want, shorts/joggers/gym wear/skirts etc.
With our silks and hammock workshops, it is advisable to wear shorts and t-shirt or vest top. As with Pole classes, all jewellery and watches should be removed beforehand.
How do I book a class?
Head to our Timetable to see which class suits you best. You will need to register on our Bsport platform, purchase a relevant pass, and apply it to the class that you would like to attend. Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions, we are always happy to help.
What should I do to prepare for my first class?
Please avoid applying moisturiser for 24 hours beforehand. This can affect the pole and your ability to grip. Also avoid wearing jewellery, or have somewhere safe to keep your jewellery once you get to class. Jewellery, and in particular rings, can be dangerous when pole dancing, and if attending silks can damage the material. If you are unable to remove rings, we have plasters to cover them during class for protection. There is a kitchen available at the studio if you need water, but please bring a drink and stay hydrated through class.
